1. Prevent smudging by using waterproof eyeliners.
2. Always focus on getting the eyeliner to the base of your eyelashes. This not only gives you greater control, but also thickens the eyelashes and makes them look more prominent.
3. Always keep in mind that eye shadow goes on first, followed by eyeliner, and mascara last. This can help prevent unnecessary accidents and botch-ups.
4. With time, you will not need to stretch your eyelids to get an even coat of eyeliner on. However, keep in mind that when you stretch and apply, the line will appear thicker and denser once you release the eyelid.

How to Apply Eyeliner

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone. These words by Katherine Hepburn are truly timeless. The first thing that people notice when they meet you is your eyes. Most cultures have a saying that broadly refers to the eyes as the mirror of the soul.

Thanks to the evolution of eye make-up and color cosmetics, we have quick, easy and safe ways to make our eyes stand out and be noticed. Eye cosmetics like kohl and other eyeliners and eye shadows can be tracked back to the Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations about 10,000 years before Christ. In eastern traditions, eye make-up has been a staple feature down the ages.
In today’s world, one is really pampered for choice with regard to eye makeup products. You can choose not only from a wide variety of brands, but also from a huge range of colors and forms. There are sober blacks and browns and there are the exotic silvers and reds. You can choose between the soft kohls and eyeliner pencils or the liquids and the thicker cream eyeliners.

Loving Your Self

Loving your own self does not mean ignoring your imperfections or being selfish. It does not mean that you say, “I am perfect and don’t need to change.” Loving yourself is not a selfish act. It does not imply that you must ignore the needs of others. Nor does loving yourself involve doing so with arrogance. Instead, to love yourself involves self-awareness. Self-love means you pay attention to your feelings, your perspective. You are fully aware of your own needs while recognizing the needs of others. If you do not feel fulfilled within, how can you properly reach out and become deeply fulfilling to others? (Neellan Nanwani, Speaking Tree)

One of the hallmarks of a complete and integrated personality is the ability to love one’s self. While it may sound like a simple thing, loving one’s self embraces all aspects of our personhood. One of them is self care at a physical material level. Along with taking care of our body and our health, we also need to take care of our appearance. To some extent, this need is built into us genetically as a survival trait. In order to feel good about ourselves, to attract the right kind of people and energy into our lives, we need to look good.
